1/18/06-2/29/06	20%	Find a single academic paper, read the paper, and write a 1-2 page summary of the paper.
1/18/06-2/29/06	20%	Present the information in the paper to the class in a 15-20 minute talk. Include 5-8 slides as visual aides.
3/15/05	60%	Write a 6 page research paper one of the topics discussed in the first weeks of the class. Find out who the important scientists are in this subfield and discuss the direction of the research. Speculate on where this work is headed. You should use the references in the paper and online searches to find out who the players are and what they are doing.

You may choose one of the following articles or find your own. The article must be published in an academic conference or journal and cover a topic in HCI. The following papers all come for the Proceedings of the SIGCHI conference on Human factors in computing systems held in 2005. This is not the only source of research in the field, but it gives a representative sample of current areas of interest.
